The annual Holy Ghost Feast was held this weekend, May 26 and 27, upcountry in Kula, at the grounds of the Holy Ghost Mission, with its distinctive white octagonal-shaped church. The event is a fundraiser for the Catholic community in Kula, and is also a beloved family event, with games, auctions, the sale of flowers and plants, livestock, baked goods, and great food. Featured food included Portuguese sweet bread, Portuguese soup, malasadas, teriyaki chicken & beef, burgers, chow fun, smoothies and other yummy items. The cool Kula air, bicoastal vistas below and the warm sun made for a pleasant time for those who attended.
