After a year of getting homes listed, in escrow, sold, feeling like a machine that keeps churning, I’m ready to bring the blog back to life. It was always pushed to the bottom of the “to-do” list but I think it could be fun and I want to put some priority to it. Thanks for looking past it all these months. Here it is, the summer of 2020. What a summer it has been. One of the strangest summers ever so far. Our Maui island is here and very beautiful as ever. Fortunately for existing residents of Maui, the beaches have been here for enjoyment with plenty of room due to a huge lack of tourist thanks to the summer of COVID-19.
Life on Maui has been lived as normal as possible with people going to Costco, grocery stores and local farmers to pick up supplies, all while wearing masks. Some of our favorite stores are closed, at least for now, hopefully some are not closing for good. Mama’s Fish House is closed. Da Kitchen just announced a “suspension” of service…hopefully they’ll really reopen again when things pick up. Little favorite place in Wailuku, Jini’s Curry – Fiji Indian Food, announced they are closing down in the Wailuku Promenade.
Hotels are closed all over the island, including the Grand Wailea, Wailea Beach Marriott.
Governor Ige announced yesterday that his plans to allow tourists back to the island without a quarantine are delayed til September 1st, 2020.
Keep watching this page, it’s my goal to update you on the great listings Delmore Realty has for sale, and other interesting things happening on the island of Maui.
Have a great day!
Aloha,
Kimberly Delmore R(B), Principal Broker, Delmore Realty
